Informal events

Share a story, a skill or a glimpse of your research.

We run relaxed get-togethers so postgrads can meet people from across the School. Contributions are short and informal, and we welcome them from every discipline and every stage of candidature. A tentative idea is enough to sign up.

Five ways to take part

  • One Photo, One Story

Bring a photo from your research, fieldwork, travels or everyday life and tell us the story behind it.

  • Fieldwork Stories & Snacks

A five-minute story about a discovery, an unexpected challenge or a memorable day in the field.

  • Bring an Object

A sample, map, instrument, field notebook or any other object, and what makes it special.

  • Skill Swap Lunch

A short demo of something useful: mapping, coding, photography, interviewing, reference management, or a skill of your choice.

  • Behind the Lab Door

Show fellow postgrads around your lab or workspace and introduce what you do there.
